On May 18, 2024, Pat Kramer (aka "Writer For Hire") received a Special Service Award for organizing numerous volunteer Tree Care events in the L.A. area to water, weed and spread mulch around the City's trees. Additionally, Pat received the lauded Phil Bernays Public Education and Community Service Award for bringing in environmentally-oriented speakers on such topics as: "Hiking Safely, Hiking Smartly," "Will the Redwoods Survive Climate Change?" and "Understanding Animal Behavior By Reading Animal's Tracks."
